Description
The aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) is a transcription factor (part of the group of nuclear receptors) that responds to the presence of aromatic hydrocarbons. It regulates genes involved xenobiotic metabolism, e.g. cytochrome P450 enzymes.
